It was all about the farm this week, with lessons and projects about cows and pigs and lots of farm stories. Our week concluded with a trip to Kelkenberg Farm on a perfect fall day (finally!). Thanks to the many parents and grandparents who joined us. I hope you had as much fun as we did.
The children are becoming familiar with the letterbook lessons and following the directions well. We worked more on circles and learned the concepts of above, on, and below in anticipation of writing the letter C soon.
The weather was so hot one day that we decided to have a picnic. We took our snacks to the park and ate in the shade before playing on the equipment. What a fun way to beat the heat!
In the upcoming week we will continue with our farm unit, do a math lesson on estimating, and take our first trip to the library. If your child has a library card, please send it in on Monday. The others will be getting their cards and all will select a book to take out. Library books are due prior to our next visit and can be returned to any library branch near you. Time to start reading!
